30BILLION OR COPYRIGHT

Kenzo and your group you should think twice as you involve the government in you programs, which government fails to pay doctors but hands billions to artist

Said John Ssegawa on the late kato Lubwama’s vigil at the national theater

Over the weekend atwar on the famous entertainment streets of Uganda as the bosses of the Uganda Musicians federation weighed in on Hon. Robert kyagulanyi aka Bobi wine’s golden speech to the creatives as some writers named it already.

“we are not beggars” says Eddy Kenzo the president of UMF as all his subscribers follow to throw more light on the statement besides showing the many times Bobi wine and his cluster have gotten tokens from the government, one tweep came out to give an example of Bobi wine’s paycheck of the Kampala city carnival vs Spice Diana’s performance at the Muhoozi activations. Where he concluded that one was paid and the other is a beggars. More such comparison are on and on across Twitter and people that have been friends for a very long time are at crossroads as we speak.

In a Tv interview renowned music manager and promoter Emma Carlos highlighted the speechs controvertial line “he didn’t call anyone abeggar he just said we should do ABC not to become beggars.” He went ahead and explained how different artist moved or had astep in the copyright quest. He also requested artist to put down their Egos and fight for the industry

Battle of supremacy,Egoes or Leadership. At the pivot are two leading artist and it looks like they both would want to spear head the project, word on street has it that there is a token of 30billion that is to be handed to the artist from government (though no concrete evidence) after they are all organised just like the promoters where handed over large sums at different occasions. This has raised talk and according to legend writer Buule Gabriel this is another hoax just like other associations that come get money and vacate

In his speech at the burial of the late Mulongo Kato Lubwama Bobi wine asked the arts industry to lay behind Dr. Hillary Kiyaga’s copy right amendment bill which is to be tabled as a private members bill, and asked them to add whatever they feel is missing in the bill, he went ahead and asked them to trust other industry elders like Ashraf Semwogerere ,Silver Kyagulanyi, Hannington Bujingo among other. If they felt like they didn’t trust his opinion so that they all back on the bill as it’s to help on the copyright.

The copyright quest has not just started today as evidence emerged and as Bujingo had met the president on the same issue and the head of state made directives on the copyright issues as shown. How far the directives went and we’re they died operation OWC has better answers

The big question is are the two artists trying to position them selves for the next generational arts leader or they are all on the copyright quest
