90% OF THEIR DNA IS SHARED WITH HUMAN BEINGS

Mountain Gorillas in Uganda are among the most attractive tourism features in Uganda since they cannot be found in any zoo for the environment there isn’t conducive for them to live.


0n 22 June 2023 while addressing the media , the counter coordinator International Gorilla Conservation
Program Henry Mutabazi urged game rangers to go an extra mile to take care of the mountain Gorillas .
“ It takes time to know they’re sick and unlike human beings who fall sick and mention it seeing a doctor.


“when it comes to Gorillas it takes time to see they aren’t doing well Healthwise , so we need to take extra care we safe
guard them .” said Henry Mutabazi.
He went to emphasize the how easily gorillas can contract disease that are contacted by humans like Flu
, cough , scabies even Covid 19 since they share over 90%of their DNA with human beings.


Formally called Mountain Gorillas Project , The International Gorilla Conservation Program(IGCP) was invented in 1991 majorly based in three African countries that’s Rwanda in Virginia Massif , Uganda and Democratic Republic Of Congo (DRC). With a mission to secure the future for mountain Gorillas.

In Uganda , they are commonly found in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in South West and Virunga mountain slopes in Mgahinga with over 400 gorillas that are expected to accumulate if well taken of as
supposed to in order for people to have an experience Gorilla trekking finding out more about mountain
gorillas.
