Drug Addiction is a chronic disease that affects the brain’s reward, motivation and memory systems. It’s characterized by compulsive drug seeking and use, despite harmful consequences. Initially taking drugs may be a voluntary choice, but repeated use can lead to brain changes that severely limit an individual’s self -control and make it difficult to resist intense drug cravings. Addiction affects the brain’s reward circuit, causing euphoria and flooding it with dopamine a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and motivation. Different substances can be termed as drugs, for instance marijuana, bhang, heroine among others can be smoked, inhaled, injected or consumed through the mouth. Students ought to desist from such substances as they are alluded to memory loss, degeneration of the body broken relationships too. The usage of the drug influenced by mainstream media or peer pressure makes the usage of these substances hard, even when the person wants to stop.

Self-Reflecting: understand the reasons behind the addiction. it’s important to recognize the triggers and circumstances that lead to substance use. Once one has identified what, makes them use the substances then one can embark on hope to deal with the vice.

These involve counselors, teachers religious leaders and even some of the victims that battled with the vice and were victorious. Through their guidance and counselling one can find useful information that maybe used to overcome the addiction.

Establishing Attainable Goals:

Set realistic and achievable recovery goals. This could include short- term objectives like attending therapy sessions or long-term goals such as maintaining sobriety for a year.

Reading a new book or say trying a new language. Grab an instrument learn how to strum the keys of this machine and that will be time made worthwhile.

Building a support Network: Surround yourself with supportive friends, family or join support groups. Having a strong network can provide encouragement and accountability. This list could include friends classmates people with the same problem among others.

Educating yourself: Learn about addiction and recovery. Understanding the process can empower you and provide strategies to handle challenges this is useful as you broaden your mind to all possibilities and accentuate the recovery process because information is power.

Cultivating Healthy Habits: Focus on overall wellbeing by adopting a healthy lifestyle. This includes proper nutrition, exercise, and stress management techniques. Visits to friends, fellowships at church, reading extensively, create useful social circles that add value to you than degenerate it.

Recovery from drug addiction is a personal journey and may require a combination of different approaches. It’s a challenging process, but with determination and support, it’s possible to overcome addiction and lead a fulfilling life.
