The head teacher however attributed the strike to the school not being able to change their meals
during mocks examinations yet they had paid for them.

Why do candidate students in Ugandan schools get occasionally suspended or expelled towards the
end of second term or approaching their final examinations?
Students are all believed to have completed Uganda National Examinations Board registration by mid of
second term , Incase of any dissatisfaction faced by them while still at school , they feel the urge to
address their dissatisfaction in any form , regardless of whether it costs them their lives since they are
sitting for their final examinations. They forget the school still has rights/ control over it’s students
until their last final paper and can have them deregistered at UNEB if valid reasons are tabled.

The commander of Police in Pakwach said none of the students at Excel college was arrested .They
were sent back home for two weeks to meditate upon their behavior.
