Catholic church declines ,to conduct requiem mass for the body of theatrical doyen Kato Paul Lubwama claiming he wasn’t a “believer”. In the catholic doctrine a believer is one who subscribes to their teaching regularly and participates in the sacraments of the same church ,when one seizes to follow them he moves away from catholicism.
Yesterday mid morning, the body of the deceased creative mulongo Paul kato Lubwama, arrived at his home in mutndwe , from the funeral home where it was kept after he succumbed to heart attack in the compact hours of 7 june after receiving the news of his friend Mubaraka Munyagwa being imprisoned. With the initial program, Kato had to be taken to Rubaga cathedral for a requiem mass but later on it was communicated that he will be taken to st.Matia Mulumba .
However all this changed when the catholic church rejected to pray for kato, claiming he was not a believer and he wasn’t following any of the sacraments, its this point the spark mixed reactions from the public majority claiming that the catholic church is hypocritical and others siding with the church that its doctrine they followed.
Those alleging hypocrisy from the church say, “Kato received all sacraments despite his affiliation with African traditional religion. The church has no moral authority to put criterion for who is a believer in God and who is not ,because the essence of religion is to follow the Bible as their Supreme tool of administration. They added that a sinner who sins every day but goes to church is celebrated more than one who doesn’t sin but doesn’t often goes among the mourners and the general public the church is criticized and marred with hypocrisy.
A friend and lead pastor for House of prayer ministries pr. Alyosious Bujingo took the mantle upon himself and prayed for the deceased at his home .
The body of Hon. Kato Lubwama will be taken to the national Theater for public viewing and on 13 June 2023 his body will be taken to him ancestral home in Nkozi where it will be foe a night until his burial on the 14 june 20223. It will be a week since Master of art passed on and it will fulfill his will of being of staying for 1 week until his burial.
