I am definitely here to enjoy life
Was a famous quotation championed by the late Kato Lubwama
A symbol of art and an element of creativity we mourn. A champion of a nonviolent resistance to lift art status and raise a bar for artists and society no wonder the consistent oratory and affiliation to his beloved Democratic Party (DP) in politics.
Kato Paul Lubwama, born in 1970 lived his life advocating for art, a pyramid that shaped modern day art and a reference for art studies in this country. “What is brought to life through woman, shall live for a short-term.” The gallant son of art has lived for 53 years , full of impact.Bidugu, Lubwax, Kubuwa , uncle kato and mulongo are some of the names the deceased creative was referred to in different circles.
A philanthropist, who shared what ever little it was with the people at, all his entrepreneurship depended on solving a problem and making situations better than his awful experiences, he didn’t want to see others suffering. A star Smith ,who smelted many talents from the ore. We join thousands across the world to mourn.
The nation, learned the demise of the drama maestro in the wee hours of 7 June after succumbing to a heart attack at Stan Medical center in Bunamwaya. This tragedy left us in shock as a country because we didn’t expect it.
Kato was living a good health not until the moment that took away his life. It’s dooms day especially to the artistry world in Uganda because of the demise of uncle kato, it’s these desperate moments that call for different yardsticks. To all the artists, Kato has left lots of ideas that need implementation, for his legacy to live and see centuries we need to put action these ideas, all stake holders jointly involved to make art a prestige like he owned it.
We condole together with the loved ones and the general public on the demise of the fallen art magnet and we wish him an eternal rest to his final resting place, he leaves us with the obligation of self reflection on who we are as a society, the need to work hard, stand for equality and justice, sharing , not to underestimate others, lower our pride because at the end of the day, we take nothing out of this world.
A jack of all walks of life, Mulongo waffe Kato Paul Lubwama Rest In Peace. Till we meet the art vision.
