The people of Busoga are earnestly waiting for the 9th Coronation ceremony of HRH William Wilberforce
Nadiope Gabula IV. This annual event is set to take place today 13th September 2023 at Namungaalwe
playground in kigulu Chiefdom Iganga district.
William Gabula Nadiope IV, ascended the throne on 13th September 2014 as the Kyabazinga of Busoga
after a series of contests in the kingdom of who should be King thus ending a six year wait for a
Kyabazinga. Gabula succeeded Henry Wako Muloki who had dutifuly served as Kyabazinga from 1967.
Wako Muloki passed on in 2008
Gabula’s ascension to the throne marked a new Era of leadership for Busoga Kingdom as he has
registered a number of significant milestones during his reign such as ;
Formed his first administrative cabinet to run day to day Affairs of Busoga which has gained trust and
momentum among the people of Busoga over time.
Gabula has managed to consolidate and sustain political stability in the kingdom.
He has been able to harness majority conflicts in the kingdom.
He has managed to see off the construction of the magnificent Igene palace in Jinja city , the first
monarch to reside in the palace at Igene Hill.
Gabula’s reign has managed to improve youth engagement to their cultural heritage with events like
Busoga Masaza football among others.
Michael Kifubangabo spokesperson of the kingdom rallied the people of Busoga to come and attend
the event, Patrick Mudungu the head of cultural institutions in Busoga affirmed that the event is a
confirmation of the Gabula reign and also rallied the Busoga community to join the Kyabazinga in the
celebrations
