KATO LUBWAMA IS NO MORE.

“am here to enjoy my life.” Are some of the famous lines from the grate Kato Lubwama who was an artist, politician, and founder of B24 tv.

The sad news first made rounds from Andrew Mukasa alias Bajo events a music promoter as well as Kato’s business partner announcing Kato
Lubwama’s death in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Lubwama is reportedly to succumbed to a heart attack at Stana Medical Care in Kitebi . He was diagnosed with tripple heart vessel disease at Mulago Heart Institute (MHl). Earlier on last year in March 2023 he had a successful heart surgery at Medicana Hospital Konya in Turkey .


But who is Kato Lubwama ?
Kato Lubwama was an outspoken drama actor , radio presenter , one of Uganda’s most celebrated comedian , song writer and a business man .This makes him a multi talented person, born 16 August
1970 , acquired his PLE certificate at Nabagereka Primary School in 1993 later on joined Old Kampala Secondary School where he sat for UCE in 1988. And later acquired a diploma in Music Dance and Drama from Makerere University in 1994 on a mature entry program.


Kato will remember heavily for igniting many music careers besides his big impact in the industry the biggest being the introduction of The late Martin Angume after he had fallen out with his top cream artists at diamonds production who was big game changer in the early 2000s. Due to his passion for creative arts he also pioneered Royal theater where he was the director up to his last breath not forgetting Diamonds Ensemble since 1994.

In 2016 he contested for Rubaga South Member of Parliament and his campaign slogan was one of a kind ,“ My first term was for me to ‘eat’ , in my second I will eat with the voters ”.said the late kato Lubwama. Unfortunately he lost to Hon A. Mukasa hance not eating with the voters in the 2021 ballot race.


A business man who was involved in floor of Parliament, a musician with songs such as Tulye , Tetunakuta and Akanaku all written by him. well know plays that are mirror to society which made it easier for
people to relate with his artistry that’s to say play as such as Geyeena Mu Lubiri , and the latest Abakunja. We can’t fail to acknowledge that the nation is going to miss you Kato Lubwama may your soul rest in peace
