On the 29th graduation ceremony of Kampala International University at the main campus in Kansanga , prof Muhammed Ngoma got installed as the Vice Chancellor .
Prof . Ngoma was the Director of the Energy Economics Modeling and Research Center at Makerere University Business School . On 4th June , 2024 he was appointed by the KIU management and he started work .
“ You have walked the journey ; you deserve to be celebrated . This is a great milestone in your life that you need to jealously guard . It should not be the end of your hard work . Build the soft and employability skills on top of what we have given you.” Prof Ngoma advised the
graduates .
He has 23 years experience in various leadership positions in higher institutions of learning ; the Audit Committee of the Council of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) , Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Uganda Security Printing Company (USPC) .
The professor of Business Administration and Management holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) , a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Makerere University .
Over 2,300 students graduated on 13th June , 2024 in different disciplines, 34 walked away with first class Honors degrees , 1893 post graduate diplomas .
The minister of Internal Affairs Major Gen Kahinda Otafiire officiated the ceremony where he gave the graduates a twister about knowledge .
“ Knowledge is a result of experience , accumulated knowledge and celeste knowledge is universal and eternal . Knowledge is a source of development and development is a result of contradiction . ” Gen Kahinda said .
He congratulated the graduates upon their accomplishment and encouraged them to go to the world of hard knocks without fear of achieving, as bigger accomplishments are still ahead of them.
Graduates were advised to represent the University uniquely as ambassadors by The chairman board of Trustees Al Hajji Hassan Basajjabalaba.
