Only 25 days are left until the 2023 Netball world cup games come alive. Exhibitions are in place from friendly matches to camping to trophy tour. The official trophy has reached Cape Town, the host town for the games. The glossy trophy had been motioning throughout the country to offer gapes for the fans and tourists before coming home to its final destination, the western Cape.

The handover ceremony occurred at Tsitsikamma Khoisan Village, which is home to the indigenous inhabitants of South Africa. The Khoikhoi and San are believed to be among the oldest cultures in the world. The area also serves as a great tourist arena with its stunning terrain.
The Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Anroux Marais, formally received the Netball World Cup trophy from the Eastern Cape Government representative, Nonceba Kontsiwe on Monday, 3rd July to kick start the final processions in the province, where the prize will be handed over to the winning team on 6th August.

Marais looked elated when he said, “The Western Cape Government is very happy and honoured to receive this trophy and to embark on a tour across our province to get all communities excited for the Netball World Cup, Cape Town is ready and looking forward to hosting the Netball World Cup for the very first time on African soil.”
Different areas within town will pay homage to the esteemed trophy between 4th and 6th July, before its final stop at Vredenburg on Friday 7th July.

What need be known.
The world cup games will take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 28th July to 6 August 2023, with 16 teams from across the globe to scramble for gold.
