Nkumba university Graduates over 1000 students.

A total of 1, 856 students graduated from Nkumba university on October 26th 2023 under various disciplines.
Among the graduates was Hon Robinah Nabanja the prime minister who was also the guest of honor. She was awarded a master of Arts in Monitoring and Evaluation. She urged fellow graduates to harness all the opportunities that come before them to attain success in the job sector.

The 25th graduation ceremony which took place at Nkumba university main campus in Entebbe was under the theme “positioning oneself for excellence in the 21st century”.
Of the 1,856 graduands a total of 15 graduands received PhD degrees, 236 masters, 185 post graduate diplomas, 997 bachelor’s degrees 247 diploma and 177 certificates. Of these 53 % are female and 47% are male. While speaking at the ceremony the vice chancellor Prof Jude Lubega said that these numbers are a confirmation that the institution continues to perform its mandate of building capacity for this nation as well as perform its mandate of teaching, research, and community engagement.

He further advised graduates to fit in the new work environment given the new technology “Graduands I just want to let you know with the evolving world, you are aware of Artificial Intelligence which is already here with us and targeting many of your jobs. Therefore, the ability for you to learn, relearn and unlearn has never been so vital for you in this 21st century. Therefore, you need to keep abreast with the current environment and make sure you adapt with the skills you have attained during your stay here and go out there and make us proud.”

The Chancellor Emmanuel Katongole requested government to support the university in building a teaching hospital. “We request government to support our institution in the construction of this teaching hospital which will not only benefit Nkumba University but the community at large since there is no nearby big hospital in the surrounding areas.

While speaking at the ceremony Hon Nabanja advised fellow graduates to harness available opportunities. “As you receive your degrees, diplomas and certificated today, remember that this is just the beginning of your journey. It’s now time for you to position yourselves and harness all the opportunities that come with academic achievement.
