However this didn’t bring sanity to the matter in eye of the public until an emergency presser and statement by the National Council for higher Education (NCHE) executive director prof Mary Okwakol at state house before the press and line minister of Education and sports.
The Director of NCHE, appeared to the Minister in Charge of Education Janet Museveni and She said, this is not true that courses are expired but the word used is the problem.

She promised to meet VC and principals of Institutions on 1&2 of next month respectively and this is an issue that they are to resolve and here form each other.
She went further to clarify that university and institutions charters are revived after five years for diploma, Bachelors and national certificates and 10years for PHD programming . She stressed it that this time is for enhancing requirements to these programs and assessment, that when Institutions of high learning didn’t respond in time. This is how they ended up on the list that actually doesn’t bear expired courses but rather courses that need certifying again.

In conculsion she said that there’s time frame for doing so and when the institutions ask for more time they encroach on the NCHE program.
She promised the Minister that the country should remain calm and students shouldn’t be worried this is going to be resolved in a short time possible.
She further denied that they don’t have any attachment to the Cambridge University in this matter, regardless of the university being one of the top institutions of higher learning in the world
