The fortified security in the country especially in the capital follows a travel advisory published by the UK government on its official website, warning its citizens and tourists who plan to visit Uganda that the country is likely to be attacked by terrorists.
The UK High Commission in Uganda has not come up to respond to the press and general public about the matter. In the Monday police-press briefing commissioner of police and spokesperson Fred Enanga said “The UK government has not shared with us any information currently, though the Uganda security has continuously used its intelligence to head off terrorist moves and the country is safe.”
Uganda has faced a resentful encounter with terrorist attacks, the June ADF attack in kasese at Lhubiriha secondary school and the November 16,2021 attack on parliamentary Avenue. Which left short and long term effects to victims and the general population.
In the quest to find out level of deployment in the city we made a walk in the city center this morning and at Kyaggwe road near Kikuubo, new and Old taxi parks , Arya parks and Mini price are some of the places where security is heavily fortified, with check points on the entrance of these areas. Security operatives in combat and civilian plain clothes all in the pursuit to protect the lives of Ugandans and maintain the Uganda tag of a peaceful and stable nation.
