Judge Me As I Am

Judge Me As I Am

Judge Me As I Am

By Muzaale Favourite

Judge me as I am, not as you think I should be.
Take me as I am, not as you wish me to become.
Judge me by what you see,
not by what others say about me.

Judge me for what I have done,
not for what you expect me to do.

When I greet you, you say I am bribing you.
When I pass you by, you say I am proud.

Judge me rationally, not emotionally.

When I smile, you say I am conning you.
When I don’t smile, you say I have a bad heart.

When I treat you as a friend, you say I love you.
When I become serious, you call me rough and ugly.
When I keep quiet, you say I am a silent burner.

Judge me as I am.
Take me as I am.

When I dress smartly, you say I am showing off.
When I look at you, I am simply admiring you.

Reward me for the good things I do.
Correct me for the wrong things I do.

But please, judge me for what I do,
not for what you expect of me.

Judge me as I am,
not as you want me to be.

Meaning Behind the Poem

The central message of Judge Me As I Am is simple yet powerful: every person deserves to be judged fairly based on their actions rather than assumptions, rumours, or unrealistic expectations.

The poem highlights how people’s intentions are often misunderstood. A smile may be seen as deception, silence mistaken for hatred, and kindness interpreted as hidden motives. Through these examples, the poem challenges readers to reflect on how easily society forms opinions without truly understanding another person’s character.

The message is particularly relevant in today’s digital world, where social media and public opinion can quickly shape perceptions before the truth is known.
